I was invited by a dear couple in the Lord, the Majima’s, to share my testimony with the college students from Kinki University in Osaka during their Saturday night Bible club! It was truly a blessing to be able to testify about the goodness of the Lord and fellowship with them! This couple has impacted my life and walk in Japan, and I was so very honored to have the opportunity to work alongside them!

It was a blessed time where two college students came, one Japanese and one Korean. One man was recently saved, and although at first was ostracized by his family who raised him to be Buddhist, they finally accepted him as a Christian after he was recently baptized! By the grace of God!!!
The Majima’s also surprised me with handmade goods made by their daughter, a love offering for speaking at their event and even a ride safely home. I was so overwhelmed and touched by their love, care and fellowship!

The pastor of the church the Bible club was held at shared with me these incredible photos. On the far left, are current missionaries that this church supports in Papa New Guinea, who work in Bible translation. It’s a two man team: one Japanese and one Korean missionary that have been there for over 20 years! Please pray for them and their important and incredible work!
Glory be to God!
On the right is something truly spectacular too! There is a picture of a palm tree; the same palm tree that was used to make the wooden cross that you can see in the photos. This pastor took three photos of the cross; one during the sunrise, one during the sunset and one with the full moon behind it; then framed this photo. It was truly magnificent to see, and as the pastor excitedly shared his stories with me, it blessed me. Our Japanese brother and sister Christians have an extreme reverence for the Cross and the special way their hearts worship the Lord is truly inspiring!!!
One more interesting facet of this Bible study was that we went around the room and explained what our God given name meanings were. For the Japanese, their names are in kanji symbols and by hearing the sound of the name alone, one cannot understand which specific symbol is used due to each sound having a variety of meanings. What really impressed me was how the Japanese Christians their explained their names. For example they would say, “it’s the “mi” from “minoru” which means to bear fruit or the “ito” in “ai” which means love. Before, someone stated, they would explain their name as the “kawa” in river or “yoshi” in reason but now they explain their names according to words found in the Bible! I was truly touched, fascinated and reminded that when we become the Lord’s the old has passed and the new has truly come!
I give honor to the Majima’s for the work that they do for the Lord, for this Mana Club that they have created to minister to the college students in the area and all the ways that they have personally impacted my life and aided my ministry in Nishinari! A big thank you to them!
-Hebrews 10:24-25 NIV-
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
To God alone belongs all the glory! Thank you so much for reading! Be blessed!
