The Core Teachings of Jesus Christ, Part 1: Love

Greetings Friends and Family of the Faith,
Today commences a 3 part series I’m so incredibly excited to share with you called: The Core Teachings of Jesus Christ! I believe that as we go through this 3 part series together, we will learn more about what is most important to Jesus and how His thoughts, behaviors and teachings throughout His life lived on Earth, can be the answer to inspire our very own lives today. It is my deep desire for all of us, that we would become more like Him by the end of this series!
Today we will dive into the first core teaching of Jesus and that is: LOVE!

Love
The greatest of all commandments in the Bible is to love. We were born to love and to be loved by a merciful God! We were also born to love people; our neighbors, our families and all of those around us!

-1 Corinthians 13:13 NKJV-
“And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”

-1 Corinthians 13:1 NIV-
“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal”

-1 John 4:10 NIV-
This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.”

God demonstrated His great love for all mankind through sending His one and only Son to Earth to be the propitiation for all of the sins in the world.
Jesus demonstrated His great love for those around Him by continually denying Himself and putting those around Him first. Since God is Jesus, we are profoundly amazed at how God has loved us and continues to love us before the world was ever created. Jesus left us with a commandment:

-Matthew 22: 37-39 NIV-
Jesus replied: “’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

If love is important to Jesus then it should be important to us too! Let’s let love motivate every single thought and behavior that we do! Let’s ask God for the grace, power and wisdom to love those around us in a radical way! Stay tuned for part 2!
Be Blessed!
