Volunteering: After-School English Program in South Korea! 📖🇰🇷 Fostering Connections for Christ ✝️

It was an extreme privilege to be given the opportunity to teach at an After-School English center over this past weekend in South Korea! I was requested to teach an exclusive English class at a learning center during a weekend program for low-income children and was so blessed to be able to attend! As the featured guest instructor, I taught two English lessons on Saturday morning, to children ages 6-16 while some of their parents were also in attendance. The students were so excited to learn English from a true native speaker, and the learning center’s owner and head teacher were also so incredibly grateful that I came to volunteer! It was a blessing to be able to use my skills in this capacity and pour into these young minds, as I believe that the education that they receive is an important and powerful tool to transform and especially impact their life. I also believe that freely using our God given skills to help and serve others, in various capacities and in a variety of settings, is a great way to be a testimony for Christ!
There were truly so many, “God moments” but one of them stuck out in particular that I would like to share. In the classroom, a young female student asked the question: “which do you believe in more? Astrology or the MBTI Personality tests?” It was then that God gave me the opportunity to boldly proclaim His name. I stated in the class that I am a Christian and believe in Jesus Christ alone. I told them that Jesus Christ is the only one I put my trust in and that He is the only one in whom we can find out all the answers to our questions about ourselves and life. I was so grateful to God for the opportunity to share His name with the students and also to be able to declare that He is the reason for everything in life! Some children smiled at my response, others looked quizzical, and others gave a small nod of contemplation and agreement.
Overall, making an impact in these young children’s lives through education, was an opportunity that I will truly never forget. As God continues to provide ministry opportunities in a variety of ways, with each encounter, Asia is continually being impacted for Christ! I praise the Lord that He is expanding our reach in Asia so that many can encounter His love and glory! Please be prayerful with me, regarding new and exciting ministry opportunities! May the Lord continue to use my life for His plans and purposes! To God alone be the Glory!

This young boy prepared a musical piece on the recorder as a way to thank me for coming all the way to teach the class to them!
He played the South Korean National Anthem- it was extremely touching!
