The Process of Making Homemade Onigiri Care Packages w/ Tracts!

Waking up at 5:45am on an early weekday morning to do prep work for outreach evangelism in Nishinari is sincerely one of my greatest joys and passions. Since being in Japan, I’ve learned how to make homemade “onigiri” which is a healthy, stable, nutritious and delicious lunch item that can be eaten at any time of the day and is especially portable and shelf stable for the homeless.
I bought my own rice cooker when I first came to Japan and buy my own ingredients to make these rice balls in an effort to connect with those in Nishinari! Through time, my skills have improved and my care packages have (Lord willing) been very well received! I included also in these care packages a bottle of cold water as well as a Manga Bible pamphlet in Japanese, which shares the gospel in a fun and effective way (they were a gift from a Japanese Christian friend of mine and I am so grateful for them)! Glory to God for His incredible provision!
Here’s a little inside peek at the prep work (behind the scenes so to speak) of one aspect of what I do here in Nishinari as a missionary regarding outreach! After I assembled the packages my Church Pastor, Yoshida Yasutaka and I set out later that day to do street evangelism!
Please look forward to hearing more about about what God did during out time there in the next blog to come!!! (Please click the pictures below to enlarge them!)
God bless you!

-Matthew 10:41-42-
“Whoever welcomes a prophet as a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and whoever welcomes a righteous person as a righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward. And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.”
