Nishinari Outreach: Sharing the Gospel

It was a privilege to do some local outreach today and by the grace of God alone, I was able to reach 3 people and share the love of Christ with them! The first step was first to PRAY! A former prayer leader of mine once gave me the invaluable advice to, “pray before you pray.” I will never forget it! Prayer is the best preparation for anything and before you do anything.
So after intense prayer, I prepared some handmade onigiri (Japanese rice balls) and made some handmade tracts with John 3:16 written on them. In addition, I hand wrote in Japanese some encouraging words including explaining who Jesus Christ is, God’s love for them and that today is the day of salvation! I urged them to believe in the one and only Son of God! Then, I added some personal hygiene items to the bags including soap, hair brushes, body sponges, razors, bandaids, tooth brushes, tooth paste as well as some other food items that I know they might not have access to but would find helpful (please see the pictures below).
I was then sent out by the Holy Spirit alone and was able to share the gospel with 3 people.
The first person I encountered was a woman, who was sitting on the ground with many bags surrounding her (at least 6). I asked her if she was ok and she replied, “no I’m not.” She was trying to get to a train station but didn’t have the strength to carry her luggage herself. I helped her carry her luggage, ministering to her along the way. She told me, “I had been sitting on the ground all day and no one considered me or asked me if I was ok. You were the only one who noticed me or offered me any help. I am eternally grateful.” I ended up giving her a tract and although she read it thoroughly she admitted to me that she was not ready to receive Christ and that she had so many belongings with her because she was just released from an insane asylum. I humbly ask that you would pray for her with me that she would be impacted by the tract and that she would give her life to Christ!
Afterwards, I met two homeless men and gave them care packages and shared the love of Christ with them. God provided so much fruit this day and came down to touch Nishinari. 3 people read the gospel of Jesus and 2 people were provided with care packages.
Overall, God’s presence touched Nishinari today as He had planned. I look forward to more people giving their lives to Christ and making an impact for Christ in this desolate land where so many homeless that are afflicted with not only demonic spirits which lead to mental health issues but people who also have no hope or education. God’s love touched them for the first time and I was grateful to be God’s conduit in this place. I know why God has positioned me to this area and commissioned me to these people. With my counseling and social work background, I am able to relate to those around this area. Additionally, while studying at a Japanese language school I have been able to communicate better than ever with those in this area. I look forward to planting the church that God has commissioned me with the assignment of doing. However, it will take more than me, (one person), to fulfill the will of God. If you feel led to give, the time is now. The harvest is ripe and there are many people that require spiritual intervention as well as other services. God’s dream for me is to provide that in a church setting for those in this area. Would you please pray with me for safety, provision and the workers to help bring God’s vision to pass? I thank each and everyone of you for your relentless sacrifice of prayer, finances and love that you give to the people of Nishinari. Let’s reach the unreached together in Jesus’ name! Amen!
