Is the Bible worth reading?

Hello everyone! I hope this message finds you well. This is the scripture that we will be focusing on today; all of these verses can be found in Psalm 119. Is there a recurring theme or message that you notice through reading these verses? Try and discern for yourself what God is trying to convey to your heart and I will meet you at the bottom of this post to talk about it with you ^_^

“Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word” (9)

“And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth; for I have hoped in thy judgements. So shall I keep thy law continually for ever and ever. And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts.” (43-45)

This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me.” (50)

“I have remembered thy judgements of old, O Lord; and have comforted myself.”( 52)

“Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now I have kept they word.” (67)

“Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me.”(98)

“Through thy precepts I get understanding.” (104)

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” (105)

Did anything stick out to you?! If so, please comment below and share! As I was reading through Psalm 119 I came across a recurring message that seemed to pop right off the page, as if illuminated in neon lights for me. This is what I feel was being conveyed to me: The answer to the beginning, the middle, the end, and the aftermath of every situation is to read, believe, use, find comfort in, and seek the word of God. In short: READING THE WORD OF GOD IS THE ANSWER TO EVERYTHING.

Through the scriptures I have highlighted today, we can see all of the wondrous miracles that can happen through the Word of God;

1.) Cleansing from sin

2.) Hope arising in our hearts

3.) Gives us the ability to walk at liberty, i.e. (the state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one’s way of life, behavior, or political views)

4.) Comfort in affliction

5.) Gives us the ability to not falter i.e. (start to lose strength or momentum)

6.) Delivers us out of stressful situations

7.) Gives us everlasting wisdom

There is a great and commanding confidence heard in the voice of every speaker in this Psalm. A confidence in the Lord that is unwaverying. A confidence in His word and a confidence in God too; that He will deliver us and perform all of his promises.

Can you imagine, if we had that much faith in God’s word on a daily basis; what it would do to increase the quality of our lives, stress levels, relationships, and overall spiritual and physical health?!

And it all begins with feeding ourselves the word daily to be able to then use it to inspire others and guide our lives to the path of righteousness.

All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” – 2 Timothy 3:16

“For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the hear” – Hebrews 4:12

Think about adding more reading time into your daily lives to understand our Lord and his ways so that we can live better lives through walking closer with our Savior each and every day. We have to read His Word to know his heart and to be able to apply these teaching into our lives. The first step is simple- it’s easy. Pick up your bible and being to let the Holy Spirit bring you all of the wonderful peace our God so graciously wants to pour out to us always.

God bless you as you seek Him with all your heart. Until next time, take care and be blessed!

    • Chikki- You speak the truth! I believe that He is trustworthy and righteous too- the only way that we can become more like Him is to spend time in His word and in communion with Him. This is my prayer for 2016; to spend more time knowing the Father and His word. Thank you Chikki (: ❤
