Letting the Holy Spirit Work

Good morning family. I want to share a wonderful truth of the bible with you all today about the Holy Spirit. Truly I tell you, that the Holy Spirit is capable of more power and wisdom beyond our ability to know without it (1 Cor 2: 9-11). It reveals to us the mysteries of God and gives us spiritual discernment to know what is right (1 Cor 2:10). The Holy Spirit is responsible for giving us supernatural experiences, thoughts and abilities that coincide with the will of Christ. Let’s take a look firsthand at how the preacher Paul experienced the Holy Spirit after his life was saved by the grace of God.

Paul, formerly Saul, declared in 1 Corinthians 2:4 (KJV) that “my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power.”

Paul was speaking about himself, giving all the glory for his speeches to God; knowing full well that the message of Christ he was spreading in Damascus was not from his own heart and mind. In addition, even the way that Paul was able to convey his speeches and the authority with which he spoke was not of himself- it was of God; and Paul knew it. Just days prior to Paul preaching in the synagogues, he was stricken blind and left all alone, wandering and helplessly trying to find his way (Acts 9: 3-9). He was not preparing a sermon or reciting a speech. In this the power of the Holy Spirit was demonstrated to all. Days before that, Saul was cursing and persecuting the disciples that followed Jesus Christ (Acts 9: 1-3). How much more glory does God deserve for turning around such a life and working such a mighty work in someone by truly making His power manifest! Saul did not know the way of God or the mysteries of Him in his fleshy state, and while being crippled by His flesh, the Lord had mercy on Paul-despite Paul’s blatant persecution of God (Acts 9: 5-6). Isn’t that amazing!? God had greater plans for Paul than the bloody road that he was on. He implanted his Holy Spirit into Paul and gave him a much higher calling (Acts 9:17).

Overall friends, the God of the universe is more powerful than anything or anyone. His good pleasure is to give us a portion of Himself for us to have with us always to utilize on a daily basis to make us become able to do the great and terrific things he is calling us to do. Things bigger than ourselves-things outside ourselves. Are you listening to the urges of God in your life? Are you giving Him the glory when you make a huge accomplishment? Are you being like Paul and giving up your fleshy plan for your life so that you can be walking in the Spirit and letting  God’s magnificent plan unfold and be fulfilled instead?

1 Corinthians 2: 9-12 (KJV)

“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.”

Friends I can confidently say that this blog post was written not by me, but by the power of the Holy Spirit. I thank God for his continually presence and guidance and I pray you all are walking in the Spirit and minding God as he cares for you.

Have a great, Spirit-filled weekend. Be blessed💕

  1. Great post! You touch on great points that the church should truly highlight. We should humble ourselves and always give glory to God in everything we do instead of take credit for spoken words or action. I look forward to your next blog, that I do. 🙂
