Let us be known for our…

Good evening guys and gals. I’ve been studying the book of 1 Corinthians for the past few days and  it’s been seriously life changing! Despite the fact that I keep reading and re-reading the same passages over and over again; with each new glance I gather new insight and peace with every verse (does anybody else share this same experience?!) The Bible is so awesome. What a gracious gift from God.

ANYWAYS, something has caught my eye that I’d like to share with you. It has to do with our identity in Christ as believers, so these verses are true for each and every person who abides in the body of Christ. This is what Paul had to say to the Church of God at Corinth (1 Cor 1:2):

1 Corinthians 4:1 (KJV)

“Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.”

The “us” that Paul is referring to in this passage is himself and fellow labourers in Christ. The Greek diaconos definition of the word “minister” used here means, “An assistant employed in relation to the ministry of the gospel.” With that being said let’s look at what a steward is. Biblical stewardship is taking what God has given you and using it wisely to further His kingdom.

I would like to suggest that no matter what the world sees and deems as your occupation; your true occupation is an assistant employed to the ministry of the gospel. We need to spread the gospel message to each and every person and use the resources that God has so graciously given us to do what He needs us to do. We need to be more involved in our churches and ministry opportunities; seeking way after way to serve others. Jesus gave us his body, bruised and beaten on the cross and shed his blood; for the remission for our sins. He didn’t have to, but He did. Even though nothing can compare to what Jesus did for us on Calvary, it is now our turn to lay our lives down for the Father, who created us to do His good will for His pleasure and our benefit.

Romans 12:1 (NIV)
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God–this is your true and proper worship.”

Let us be known for our good works for others and the kingdom of God. Let other people know us by our love of Christ and life. Let us share our light with others unceasingly, making ourselves ready and available to do whatever it is God is calling us to do. Let us wisely use what God has given us to impact others lives in a big way and not just our own. This is our true calling.

Just some food for thought today. God bless you as you yield to His Holy Spirit💚
