I have an important update to share with you today!
WHAT: Under the Lord’s leadership and after much prayer and consideration, I have transitioned out of my role with DSM Mission in order to focus full-time on the church plant we are building in Nishinari! From what started as a humble home church in a one room apartment, has now grown into a weekly Bible Study at a local community center in the most depraved part in all of Japan! Our church plant is truly growing and thriving by God’s grace with new members joining each week! With a future vision and goal to purchase a building for the church in partnership with They Need The Bible (https://theyneedthebible.org/), I am so excited for the way that God is drawing His people to Himself in Japan!!!
WHY: Nishinari needs a Christian spiritual place and presence to draw people to Christ! Japan is only 1% Christian!!! That means that 99% of all people in Japan are unreached, creating a huge need and yet unique opportunity for mission work and churches here. We need more churches in Japan, and our church aims to meet the spiritual needs of the community and be a place where people can learn the Bible in a tangible way for the first time ever!
HOW: Due to the transition of my position, my visa will subsequently need to change as well. The visa type that is able to be extended indefinitely, is a cultural activities visa! This visa requirement entails studying at a calligraphy school, which will require a 2 hour time commitment a day, Monday-Friday. In order to keep me on the field and able to accomplish the important work of building the church that the Lord has commissioned me to do, I need to be able to pay for the tuition of the school in order to obtain the visa, which will subsequently allow me to stay in Japan.
$3, 000 is the total amount, which will cover the cost of school tuition for 6 months, all visa processing fees, and all required school supplies (paper, ink, brushes, etc.). Factoring in the additional school supplies necessary for 6 months, the cost will be $3,000 in total!
If you have a heart for this mission, a desire to see a church planted in the unreached place of Nishinari, or for the gospel to be preached in a desolate place, I humbly ask that you would prayerfully consider partnering with me to make this happen!
