-Romans 12:10 NKJV-
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.”
There is this truth present that: Without you using a microphone, without you even saying a word, people can hear your life, and people are listening to your life.
I know I’ve touched on this topic before, but as Christians we can always go deeper in our understanding of why living a life of sacrifice is not only our reasonable service, but also why we do it and truly all the benefits it gives to not only our own personal lives, but also how it benefits the lives of everyone else in the world too!
-Hebrews 9:14 KJV-
“How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”
So the Living God, Jesus Christ, who was able to live a sinless life through the power of the same Holy Spirit given unto us, and who also offered up His own body as a living sacrifice for us, how much more is He able to purge us from our old selves, our dead works and our sinful habits, all unto the Glory of God? We always say as Christians, “God is able,” but do we truly believe it by showing it through our actions and our every day life?
-Romans 8:26 KJV-
“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”
He is truly able to help us in all things, more than we can even realize or could imagine!
-Hebrews 9:15 KJV-
“And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.“
The “they” in the scripture above is talking about us! As Christians who believe in Jesus, God gives us the promise of help, safety and an eternal inheritance forever! The benefits are truly unfathomable!
So, should we not follow the example of our Lord Jesus Christ!? Absolutely not. Jesus does not ask something for us to do, that He wasn’t first willing to do Himself. He showed us how to life a perfect, blameless, holy and sacrificial life, and He is our ultimate example and vision.
Living a life of sacrifice makes us truly realize how grateful we are for being able to lead a life of peace and life in the Light with our loving Father God.
I want to encourage you all by leaving you with Psalm 121, which speaks of how God is with us, attentive to us, and an ever-present help to us at all times.
-Psalm 121 NIV-
A song of ascents.
“1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord watches over you—
the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;
8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.”
Let’s continue to boldly live a life for Christ and continue to lay our lives down daily for Him and for the benefits of others! Only you can know what God is asking you to lay down for Him, but a good place to start would be to consider whatever is not glorifying unto Him. Let the Holy Spirit guide you as you get closer to our King Jesus and walk in love towards others. Through His power, we are able!
God bless you and thank you so much for reading!
