Japanese Calligraphy Study!

I have studied at a Japanese Calligraphy school for 5 months now! I’ve learned to read and write the Japanese language better than ever, and it’s been a great way to connect with the culture as well as well as improve my capacity in the Japanese language through study. Studying the art of calligraphy has helped my life in Japan as I am able to read the difficult Chinese lettering used everyday more than before, and also have significantly improved my writing skills as well. This is so important, for when I make the homemade tracts to give to the homeless, need to read a street sign, fill out governmental paperwork, etc.

My journey as a missionary in Japan is far from over and this has been another building block necessary to help prepare me for all that God has yet to do. With vision to plant a church in Nishinari, what I’ve learned through my lessons here have been significant and will pave the way for greater success for the Lord for years to come.

I have been meeting with multiple mission-sending agencies online and also have appointments in person when I return to the States, to plan for obtaining a missionary visa. Should the Lord allow and visions align, partnering with a Mission agency in the United States would fund my visa and allow me to stay in Japan longer. Should the Lord have me to continue His mission as a “solo missionary,” I will continue to study the Japanese way of reading and writing through calligraphy when I come back to Japan in October. May the Lord’s will and work be done continually in and through my life always. Thank you to everyone who has ever prayed, given to, or supported God’s mission in Japan in any capacity and thank you for supporting the gospel being spread in a desolate place. God bless you!
