Does God Really Send People to Hell?

Today I’d like to talk about a deep set question that many of you may have also pondered before in your life. Does a good God really send people to hell?
I’ll tell you a story that a dear friend shared with me about a conversation that they had with their non-Christian friend one day concerning the truth and character of God! I believe that this will impact your heart as much as it did mine!!! Here it is:

“My friend asked me,

Why would a good God send people to hell?

I said,

God doesn’t send people to hell. Actually, we were already on our way to hell and what God did was He gave us a way out. It’s like being on a ship that’s sinking and someone says:

‘Hey, there’s lifeboat!’ You can choose to get on the lifeboat but if you reject the lifeboat, you automatically go down with the ship. It’s the same thing. Our sin was already taking us to hell and God gave us Jesus and said ‘here is the Lifeboat.’ But if you reject the lifeboat, you’re automatically going where you were already headed. God didn’t send you there.”

The truth is that God doesn’t want to send any of us to hell! I believe my friend’s story exemplifies the scripture that says:

-2 Peter 3:9 NLT-
“The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.”

The way to have everlasting life is therefore through faith by acknowledging the truth of God and through repentance. First, we must put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ, then repent of old ways and behaviors that hurt God’s heart. We can help others see the truth of God through having humility in our walk and the powerful truth of God in our mouths!

-2 Timothy 2:25-26 KJV-
“In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.”

In conclusion, the devil is the one who leads us into captivity- not God!

-Psalm 145:8 NIV-
“The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.”

Let us all run to the Father, as we desperately need Him in our lives! I pray we all take God’s outstretched hand and get into His lifeboat and accept His ways, so that we can have fullness of life, escape a life and death in hell, and utimately, have everlasting peace and love in Christ alone!

Thank you for taking the time to read this! God bless you dear ones!
