Easy Steps to Share the Gospel: Christians and The Great Commission

Jesus’ last words before He ascended into Heaven are exceptionally powerful, riveting instructions and are now referred to in the modern era as, “The Great Commission.” Jesus’ final thoughts towards mankind basically can be categorized in this sentence alone: He wants all of us to tell others about the truth of the freedom that is found in His name alone.
This mission, given to all of us from Jesus Christ Himself, is not burdensome, difficult or asking too much in the least. In fact, God has already given us everything we need and has fully equipped us as well for this task! Practically speaking, Jesus has already given you a mouth, a voice and a circle of influence. Think about the people that the Lord has placed around you in your life; starting with your family and extending into your workplace and community as well. We all have people in our lives who desperately need the gospel of Jesus Christ to be saved. Let’s meditate and ponder on Jesus’ last words on Earth before He went to heaven, together:

-Mark 16:15-18 NIV-
“He (Jesus) said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to see the people we love in our lives in this life and the next? Wouldn’t it be wonderful to see them in heaven? You are in control of this; God can use all of us to share the gospel and allow Him to do a mighty work in their hearts!
But how can we accomplish this? Although Jesus has already given us everything we need; I’ve outlined three practical steps that if we apply them as we minister, I believe the chances of people receiving Christ can abound 13x fold at least!

How to share the gospel, Practical Steps:
1. Pray first! My prayer team leader once told me, pray before you pray! I believe he exemplified the heart of Christ to us then! Pray and pray and pray about everything and anything. Pray before you go! Pray before you speak with others! Pray for God to bring the right person at the right time to have open ears to the gospel of Christ! Amen!
2. Be activated in the Holy Spirit and totally reliant on His voice alone. I realize that we all communicate with God the Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit in different ways, however, being totally reliant on the voice of God in the moments of sharing His Word is absolutely essentially in my humble opinion. Be willing to be flexible and go with the Holy Spirit’s unction at all times is an invaluable skill to helping others.
3. Bring your Bible – Have the Word of the Lord ready to share. A physical Bible has the power to change the atmospheres that we are in and when we bring the living Word of God with us, we can use it to convict the hearts of those around us. A good place to start is, “Romans road” to simply show Christ and help people to understand the truth of God.

-2 Timothy 4:2 KJV-
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.”

I want to encourage you dear ones to take heart, and to be open to sharing your faith with others. Honestly, it’s an essential part of being a Christian and also Jesus’ last wish for us. I pray that everyone would be bold in their faith and be patient with those around them as we seek to save those who are lost and seek the Lord to turn hearts of those around us. I promise, if you keep knocking, the door will be opened unto you. Let’s not get weary in praying for our loved ones or those who have yet to accept Jesus Christ around us.

I love you family of God and thank you for your help and support as I navigate the difficult but fruitful terrain of Japan. God bless each and everyone of you!
