By the grace of God and through much help from my Japanese sisters at church, I’ve learned how to make my own onigiri (rice balls) to include in the care packages for the homeless and the lost here in Nishinari! We all know that homemade food tastes so much better than store bought (it’s much healthier too) and another plus is that by me being able to make it at home, it is much more cost effective for the ministry! Onigiri is a comfort food for Japanese people and something that is eaten everyday here in Japan for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
As you can see below, I showcase how I make Japanese onigiri and origami handmade tracts for the homeless, which I include in the care packages I give out as an evangelism tool in Nishinari. Although the tracts I make are different every time, this time I felt led to make tiny houses. For the homeless here who don’t have homes, I thought it appropriate to let them know that they have a dwelling place with and in Jesus. For this reason, I included this verse on these homemade tracts:
-Deuteronomy 33:27 ESV-
“The eternal God is your dwelling place, and underneath are the everlasting arms.“

It is a privilege to serve here in this capacity and I pray that the people receiving these care packages will feel Jesus’ love for them and give their lives to Jesus because of it. It’s been very effective so far and I will continue to minister in this way!
If you would like to donate to this mission for more care packages to be made; so that I can make even more and add other necessities into them, please check the “Donate” button on the homepage of this website.
-Ephesians 6:10-
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.”
God bless you and may God continue to bless the Japanese unto their salvation! Amen!
