Making Onigiri for the Homeless

As I mentioned in my last post, I hand-make origami tracts and affix them on rice balls (onigiri) to give to the homeless as a way to engage them in conversations about Jesus and also to provide them with a meal! Lately, I’ve been wanting to make my own rice balls because
1. Homemade food always tastes better
2. It is more cost effective

I’ve never made onigiri before and I can’t say I have a great handle on cooking Japanese cuisine yet, but I am trying my best so that I can provide for the needs of these homeless men and women and use this as a ministry tool to lead them in encounters with Jesus! I’ve by no means perfected it, but I’m hoping to improve my cooking skills to be a blessing to these men and women! Please check out my progress so far! To get the onigiri in a triangular shape is the most challenging aspect, but I will keep trying and will keep you updated on the progress!
Proverbs 22:9
The generous will themselves be blessed,
for they share their food with the poor.

Proverbs 28:27
Those who give to the poor will lack nothing,
but those who close their eyes to them receive many curses.
