In case you didn’t know, Lifted Vision Ministry is all about Street Evangelism! With hearts for the disadvantaged, broken and homeless, we hit the streets of Nishinari to share the love of Christ and His saving gospel of reconciliation! As a team of four, this made the largest street evangelism team we have had since I’ve arrived here in Japan! God continues to grow our street evangelism team with dynamic Christian leaders and servants! I praise God for sending these faithful, Christian workers with huge hearts for the lost and pray for this team’s continued growth! Amen!
As we walk around the area of Nishinari, we are led by the Holy Spirit and ask God to lead us in encounters with those that need a touch from Jesus! We were able to pray for the sick and homeless, feed the hungry and exhausted day laborers, and make connections with a non-faith based, local outreach organization. This day, we passed out 6 care packages to the homeless! These care packages included a meal of two rice balls filled with various meat and vegetable fillings, bread, coffee, water and also an origami Christian tract that I handmade.
I am finding that the Japanese homeless here receive the care packages with so much gratitude. They are extremely hungry; having no home, no income and no hope. Most of them are extremely emaciated and sit on a piece of cardboard in the street all day long while the hot, summer sun beats down on them relentlessly. I’ve found that using these care packages is really the best way to start a conversation with them, help them with their physical needs and most importantly provide an opportunity to share the gospel with them. What we are doing is more than simply feeding the homeless- we share the gospel of Jesus Christ with Bibles ready and ask people if they would like to put their faith and trust in Him. This mission was created to minister to not merely the physical needs of the men and women here, but to lead them in an encounter with Jesus Christ and take care of their needs spiritually as well.
God has truly been using this ministry to minister to these homeless men and women here! I praise God for the work that He is doing and pray for this ministry to grow so that we can continue to make the biggest Kingdom impact possible in Japan! Thank you so much for all you do as a supporter of this mission. From reading this blog, to your fervent prayers for the Japanese: all of your support goes directly towards making an impact in the lives of these homeless and we are grateful!
God Bless you!
