Main Take-away: Staying in the presence of God all day long, knowing God and staying conscious of His presence and influence all day long. He will not allow you to stumble when your eyes are on Him.
In Luke 4:1, it states that Jesus was full of the Holy Ghost. After He fasted in the wilderness for 40 days and nights with no food or water, the devil came to tempt Him. After communing with God in the wilderness, Jesus had the power to resist the devil and every temptation that the enemy could think of to throw at Him. Furthermore, Jesus didn’t have anything getting in the way of his relationship with God- not even food. Jesus was supremely focused on God’s presence and walking in His presence. What was the result of this? It was power. Power is the direct result of staying in the presence of God.
In Luke 4:14, the Bible says that Jesus returned to Galilee from his 40 days and 40 nights in the desert in the power of the Spirit. It also states that He did so many incredible things in Galilee, that fame came to Him throughout the region! He was able to do things that had never done before because He had power in the Holy Spirit through spending time God’s presence.
In Luke 4:15, it states that Jesus also taught spiritual things after that time. He still hadn’t lost focus. In fact, He never lost His mission mindset no matter what. Even though Jesus had been through a traumatic experience (fasting 40 days in the desert with no food or water and just continuously walking and attempting to survive) He stayed focus on His mission – to teach the truth. And Jesus did not only teach. It states in Luke 4:18 that Jesus was boldly proclaiming He had the Spirit of the Lord upon Him. Jesus was confident.
We can do things we otherwise would not be able to do while in God’s presence. Even knowing God and being conscious of Him gives you a great advantage. Focus on God and not on yourself and see how your life changes : )
Be blessed.
