Hello everyone! Today is my first day in Japan! I’ve arrived safely and have been acclimating easily to the new time zone! Thank you so much for your continued prayers!
Today, I started venturing out into Osaka. As I walked the busy streets, I was talking to God and assessing the needs of the community. I then began to pray over the area. I prayed for strongholds to be broken, hearts to be readied and open for the gospel and truth of Jesus and also for a shift in the spiritual dynamics of the atmosphere of the land. I began laying a prayer covering in preparation for the ministry that I am about to do here.
During these prayer walks and as I observed the people here, Holy Spirit began to tell me how to pray. He highlighted some people groups and gave me some insights into the general area.
What I first noticed was the extremely, large community of homeless, day laborers. Homeless men were sleeping on the streets and had all of their belongings with them. The needs of the people in this community are plain as day: #1. A personal relationship with Jesus Christ #2. Food and shelter for the homeless and #3. Relational and physical support for the handicapped and elderly. My heart continues to become enlarged for these people.
Here are some general facts about Christianity in Japan: 1. Less than 1% of Japanese are Christians 2. Most Japanese have never seen a Bible 3. Shinto and Buddhism are the prevalent religions. Christianity isn’t widely grasped here yet, but what’s amazing is that the harvest is plentiful! With no background in Christianity, these Japanese will be hearing about Jesus for maybe even the first time in their lives. I look forward to passing out tracts in the next few days!
What God shared with me is that in Japan there is a massive cloud over people here: the name of the cloud is called loneliness and isolation. These Japanese crave community with everything inside of them and with aging Christian churches- there is a serious need for revival and fellowship. God also shared that because this is a godless nation, there is a nationwide shortage of His presence.
Only Jesus can save and these people desperately need to hear about Him! If you could partner in prayer with me for God’s will to be accomplished here, I would greatly appreciate it!
ありがとうございます!
