Pay more attention to Jesus than Satan (Obvious?)

Hi everyone! Judging by the title of this blog, I presume you are thinking that it’s kind of obvious what I’m writing about today… but, is it completely a black and white matter? I think not.

Is there anyone out there who feels that sometimes we can get distracted from the work that the Lord wants us to do?

Do you ever doubt the calling that God has put on your life?

God spoke to me today and said something I want to share with you;

“You have to be so busy with the Lord’s work that you don’t have time to listen or even pay attention to the devil!”

The Lord confirmed His word to me through His Holy scriptures! 🙂 (BTW; If you feel you hear something from God, but aren’t sure… know that the Lord always confirms His word in the scriptures.) Here are the scriptures that God gave me that align with what He spoke to me:

“So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.” – Galatians 5:16 NIV

” But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.” – Romans 13:14 ESV

 and do not give the devil a foothold.” – Ephesians 4:27 NIV

Ultimately: Do not give the devil a foothold (or any attention for that matter), always be in the Spirit and never give the devil a chance to tempt your flesh.

If we are too busy pursuing God and His righteousness through a relationship with Jesus Christ, then we are focused on pleasing Him and not ourselves. This is the only way that we can be confident of this very thing and have unwavering faith!

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ…” – Philippians 1:6

Am I saying to ignore spiritual attacks from the enemy? God forbid. There is a place we can tell all demonic energy and influence to go- to the feet of Jesus!

However, if we spend our time focusing more on the evil in this world than on the good- God and His righteousness- we will have missed the mark.

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” – Matthew 6:33

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” -Philippians 4:19

Don’t focus on the lack, focus on God and His abundance! I encourage you to really listen to God’s word and really focus on what He is trying to communicate to you specifically! God Bless you as you seek Him!
